I like to stay healthy and active, and this blueberry banana protein smoothie has been my favorite post workout smoothie. I prefer to add vanilla whey protein but you can replace it with any natural protein superfoods or increase portion of cottage cheese.
Health Benefits of Blueberries
Blueberries are loaded with antioxidants and help improve heart health and boost immune power. These little blueberries are full of nutrients including potassium, vitamin C and contains high levels of fiber.
I would say most important thing is the high level of antioxidant. To improve immunity our body needs antioxidants and blueberries are one of the best fruits.
High Protein
This blueberry banana smoothie has good amount of natural protein even without adding any protein powder of your choice. Cottage cheese is low in calories and high in protein. It’s my personal preference but I add whey protein either vanilla flavor or strawberry banana flavor to give extra protein boost, especially I prefer to drink this smoothie as pre-workout or post-workout smoothie.
Feel free to add your favorite superfood, I would recommend to use chia seeds and almonds to give extra protein boost.
How to make Blueberry banana protein Smoothie?
This post workout smoothie is very easy t make. Dice banana into small pieces and add into blender along with 1 cup well washed blueberries, half cup cottage cheese, 1 tbsp chia seeds and 1 cup water.
You can either increase the portion of cottage cheese to increase protein level, or add protein powder of your choice. I would recommend vanilla flavored whey protein powder over chocolate flavor to enjoy the best taste.

Blueberry Banana Protein Smoothie - Post Workout Fuel
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Blueberries
- 1 Medium Banana
- 1 tbsp Chia Seeds
- 1/2 Cup Cottage Cheese
Instructions
- Take 1 medium size banana and dice in small pieces. Yes, show some love to blender blades 🙂
- Add 1 cup washed blueberries.
- Add 1/2 cup cottage cheese to give protein boost to blueberry banana protein smoothie. After workout our body needs protein to heal and build muscles.
- Add 1 tbsp chia seeds.
- Add 1 cup water. If you like cold smoothie then you can use ice cubes or crushed ice.
- Blend all ingredients until everything is liquified.
