Vitamix FoodCycler – Fertilizer from smoothie and other food scraps in mere hours
Every day when I make smoothie lot of smoothie ingredient scraps go into garbage. Apart from green smoothies, I like to do gardening and grow greens for smoothie indoor and outdoor. I always thought of using food waste to make fertilizer for plants but disliked the idea by thinking of scrap decomposition odor.
If you are also following smoothie diet daily then you know exactly how much green waste goes in to garbage. Yes, for example fruit cores and vegetable peels.
Over the weekend, while browsing smoothie superfoods on Amazon, I came across Vitamix FoodCycler. I found it very interesting and useful so wanted to share here. This little machine is amazing and powerful as it can make fertilizer from smoothie ingredient scraps as well as other food scraps in few hours.
Apart from fruit cores and vegetable peels, you can also add food scrap such as chicken bones, dairy and similar into Vitamix FoodCycler and transform into fertilizer for plants. Yes, while eating healthy food you will be taking care of yourself as well as the planet.
How Does Vitamix FoodCycler FC-50 work?
It’s very simple and easy to use Vitamix FoodCycler to make fertilizer. All you have to do is just throw the food scraps into the bucket and turn on the FoodCycler. You cannot throw everything that goes into trash can, later in this post I will share what to feed your FoodCycler.
You will be surprised to see that it breaks down food scraps into a tenth of its original volume and makes nutrient rich fertilizer that can be added to your house planter soil or even outdoor garden.
I was amazed by the fact that it comes with carbon filtration system that eliminates odors. That makes it possible for indoor use without worrying about odor. Perfect indoor organic fertilizer making machine! I never thought of that, thank to technology.
